Le 16 février 2010, je publiais ce billet dans lequel je me désolais de n’avoir qu’une bande son, plutôt qu’une vidéo son et image, de la chanson “Hallelujah” de Leonard Cohen, interprétée par la chanteuse k.d. Lang lors de la cérémonie d’ouverture des Jeux Olympiques de Vancouver le 12 février 2010.

Le trou noir est maintenant comblé avec cette vidéo captée sur la chaîne de télévision suédoise svt1 par “vito amato” et publiée sur YouTube…

Alors que la chanson, sous son titre original de “In other words”, fut d’abord interprétée dans les cabarets par Felicia Sanders, c’est Kaye Ballard qui en fit le premier enregistrement en 1954. De son côté, Felicia Sanders ne l’enregistra qu’en 1959.

Pour Frank Sinatra, le changement majeur apporté à la chanson par Quincy Jones en 1964 fut qu’il fit passer celle-ci d’un tempo 3/4 (valse) à un tempo 4/4 (plus rapide et associé au swing).
